You can now purchase government-approved low cost digital TVs.
Korea Communications Commission (KCC) selected 9 models of digital TV sets from 4 domestic manufacturers (Samsung, LG, Daewoo Display and Motive C&C) as low-cost and popular products to promote the digital TV transition scheduled in 2012. The article is here.
The companies will provide the TV sets at a reduced prices from minimum 190,000 won ($168) to 849,000 won ($750), which are 20,000($18) to 130,000 won ($115) cheaper than original price.
Wow, pretty helpful to narrow the ‘digital broadcasting information divide’.
Only problem? You can buy the same products at lower cost in online shop.
